bus to the airport
November, 26, 2008 by Kelly Lin(This page is under construction !!!)
If you want to go to the airport, you can take Kamalan bus to Taipei main bus station. Then, you can find the bus to airport there. There are two bus companies serving the bus to the (Taoyuan) airport.
- Dayou (大有)
Inside the building of Taipei main bus station, you can find NO.2 Da You bus company and it’s just right next to Kamalan bus comapny. Buy the bus ticket to airport at Da You bus company and it serves from 5 AM to around 8:30 PM. The bus comes in around 30 mins.
- Guoguang(國光)
Here is the other option. You can walk around 5 mins from Taipei main bus station to Guoguang bus company which is across from the Shinkong Mitsukoshi department store (the one around Taipei train station). Go to the East station of Guoguang. You can see its sign written in Chinese(往桃園機場) and English (to Taoyuan airport. It serves from 5 AM to 11 PM. The bus comes in around 20 mins.

At last, here is the Chinese you might need. 一張到機場的票(I want a ticket to the airport) yi zhang dao4 ji chang3 de piao4 (the number is the the tone).

Seeing the doctor (IV) – After making an online appointment
November, 19, 2008 by Kelly LinBefore seeing the doctor:
If you’ve already made an online appointment, go to the doctor’s office directly and wait outside the room until the electric board shows your appointment (waiting) number.
While seeing the doctor:
When you enter the doctor’s office, a nurse will ask for your health insurance card. When you are finished seeing the doctor, a nurse will ask you to wait a minute to get the printed notes. You will have at least one note which will show you the fee that you should pay and the medicine pick-up number. She will return your health insurance card as well.
After seeing the doctor:
Bring the notes to registration & cashier counter to pay the fee and then go to the medicine pick-up counter to get your medicine. After you pay, you will have a receipt from the clerk. (Please keep the receipt.) The clerk will stamp on the note with the medicine pick-up number on it. When the electric board at the medicine pick-up counter shows your number, please bring the stamped note with your pick-up number on it and your health insurance card to get your medicine.
Although you will get your medicine pick-up number before you pay the fee, if you don’t pay the fee and have the note be stamped, the pharmacist won’t give you your medicine.

Seeing the doctor(II) -First time to visit a hospital / drop in visit
November, 12, 2008 by Kelly LinIf it’s your first time to go to a hospital (or clinic), you have to fill out a form at the registration & cashier counter for them to know your basic personal information such as your birth, contact information, medicine allergy, ect.
(The order of the expressions below is English, Chinese ,and then Pinyin, the number means the tone)
You can say ” This is my first time here”
我是第一次來
wo3 shi4 de4 yi ci4 lai2Then, the clerk will give you a form to fill out.
However, if you are not sure how to fill out the form in Chinese, you can ask the clerk to help you fill out the form by showing your ARC card which has your basic information in Chinese on.
You can say “Could you help me to fill out? Because I don’t know much to write Chinese”.
可以請你幫我填嗎?因為我不太會寫中文。
ke yi3 qing3 ni3 bang wo3 tian2 ma? Yin wei2 wo3 bu2 tai4 hui4 xie3 zhong wen2
After your first time visiting the hospital, you will have a medical record number from the hospital and you can make an online or on-the-spot appointment for next time (if you have) No matter which hospital or clinic you go, you can’t make an appointment if it’s your first time there and besides you have to fill out a form and wait to see the doctor.
If you have been to the hospital and want to make an appointment in person, the procedure for seeing the doctor will be different from making online appointment only at the beginning. Instead going to the doctor’s office directly, you have to make an on-the-spot appointment at the registration & cashier counter. (If it’s your first time, you have to fill out the form first.) The clerk will ask you for your health insurance card and then ask what clinic you want to see and date. She/he will print a note for you that will indicate the date, the doctor’s office and your appointment number. Then, follow the same procedures mentioned in the article of Seeing the doctor (III)- after making an online appointment to see the doctor and get your medicine.
